Dorothy Reede is a writer and translator who lives and works in the Czech Republic.

Her writing was inspired not only by her love of classic literature, but also by her interest in the speculative aspects of our world. It was this eternal “what if?” that introduced her to all the varying subgenres of speculative fiction, starting with Golden-Age sci-fi and ending with more recent turns on the genre, such as steampunk or slipstream. She is an avid fan of science fiction and fantasy in general, and enjoys anything and everything steampunk.

She lives in Prague with her family and one rather grumpy dog.

Had the opportunity to do the amazing writers residency on Martha's Vineyard in October 2014.
